WHAT ARE Invisible ALIGNERS?
Invisible Aligners (INVISALIGN) are an alternative to traditional braces and are designed to help guide teeth into their proper position. Similar to braces, invisible aligners use a graudual force to control tooth movement, but without metal wires or brackets. Invisible Aligners straightens your teeth using a custom-made series of aligners created for you and only you. These aligner trays are made of smooth, comfortable and virtually invisible plastic that you wear over your teeth. They gradually and gently shift your teeth into place. There are no metal brackets to attach and no wires to tighten. You just pop in a new set of aligners approximately every two weeks, until your treatment is complete. You'll achieve a great smile with little interference to your daily life.
HOW DO THIS TREATMENT WORK?
Treatment begins with taking x-ray, photographs, a bite registration, and polyvinyl siloxane impressions of the person's teeth and gums.
The dentist/orthodontist completes a written evaluation that includes diagnosis and treatment plan. Dental impressions are scanned in order to create a digital 3D representation of the teeth.Technicians move the teeth to the desired location with the program Treat, which creates the stages between the current and desired teeth positions.Anywhere from six to forty-eight aligners may be needed. Each aligner moves teeth .25 to .33 millimeters.
WEAR A NEW ALIGNER EVERY TWO WEEKS
Approximately every two weeks, you will begin wearing a new set of aligners, advancing you to the next stage of your treatment. To monitor your progress, you will also have occasional checkups with your doctor, usually only every six weeks or so. For best results and a timely outcome, you should wear your aligners for 20 to 22 hours per day, throughout your entire treatment. At every stage, you will be able to see how much closer you are to having the smile that
